After builders cleaning checklist: what's included
After builders cleaning, also called post-construction or post-renovation cleaning, removes the dust and residue left by the work, from top to bottom, room by room. A typical after builders clean includes:
Kitchen: worktops, splashbacks, cupboard fronts, sink and taps (limescale removed), hob, the outside of the oven and other appliances, and floors. Tell us if you want the inside of the oven and fridge cleaned as well.
Bathrooms: limescale on tiles, shower screens, taps, bath and basin, the toilet inside and out, mirrors, cabinets and floors.
Bedrooms and living areas: dusting of furniture, surfaces, skirting boards, light fittings and radiators, mirrors and glass, doors and handles, vacuuming and mopping floors.
Throughout: cobwebs removed, switches and handles cleaned, floors vacuumed and mopped.
Painted walls and ceilings and specialist mould or rust treatment are not included. Minor, accessible mould, for example on bathroom sealant, is cleaned where reasonably possible, but we can’t guarantee that it will come off. We don’t accept bookings for properties with a pest infestation, including properties that have been treated for one. Carpet, rug and upholstery steam cleaning are not part of a deep clean either, but you can add them to the same visit: see carpet cleaning, rug cleaning and sofa and upholstery cleaning.
What a deep clean includes
We agree the task list with you before the visit, so the time goes on the areas that matter most to you. A typical deep clean covers:
- Dust removed from all surfaces, including high surfaces, light fittings, door frames and window sills
- Worktops, shelves and skirting boards wiped
- Cupboards and drawers cleaned inside and out
- Paint splashes, plaster and residue removed from hard surfaces where it can be done safely
- Kitchen and bathroom fittings, sinks, taps, tiles and glass cleaned
- Inside of windows and frames cleaned
Carpets often need more than vacuuming after building work. Carpet steam cleaning can be added to the same booking.
When to book
Book the clean once the builders have finished all dusty work, including sanding, drilling and cutting. If the builders are still working in one area, dust from there will settle on the rooms we have cleaned. If the finish date moves, let us know and we’ll rearrange.

After builders cleaning starts from £220. The final price depends on the size of the property, how much dust and residue the work left and which areas are included. Photos or a short video help us quote accurately. Parking, the ULEZ charge and the Congestion Charge are added where they apply.
