Deep cleaning services in London
A deep clean is a one-off, top-to-bottom clean of a home that is lived in. Together with end of tenancy and after builders cleaning, it makes up most of the roughly 1,000 bookings Top Cleaning GB handles each year. Deep cleans start from £220, and we bring all the equipment and products.
What affects the price of rug cleaning
The difference is whether anyone is living in the property.
- Deep cleaning is for an occupied home. The team works around your furniture and belongings and follows a task list shaped around your priorities.
- End of tenancy cleaning is for an empty property at the end of a tenancy, following a fixed checklist for the check-out inspection.

What affects the price of rug cleaning
- Before or after a family event, or before the holidays
- Before moving into a home that is already furnished
- When a home hasn't had a thorough clean for a long time
- After an illness, or when someone with allergies is moving in
After builders cleaning checklist: what's included
After builders cleaning, also called post-construction or post-renovation cleaning, removes the dust and residue left by the work, from top to bottom, room by room. A typical after builders clean includes:
Kitchen: worktops, splashbacks, cupboard fronts, sink and taps (limescale removed), hob, the outside of the oven and other appliances, and floors. Tell us if you want the inside of the oven and fridge cleaned as well.
Bathrooms: limescale on tiles, shower screens, taps, bath and basin, the toilet inside and out, mirrors, cabinets and floors.
Bedrooms and living areas: dusting of furniture, surfaces, skirting boards, light fittings and radiators, mirrors and glass, doors and handles, vacuuming and mopping floors.
Throughout: cobwebs removed, switches and handles cleaned, floors vacuumed and mopped.
Painted walls and ceilings and specialist mould or rust treatment are not included. Minor, accessible mould, for example on bathroom sealant, is cleaned where reasonably possible, but we can’t guarantee that it will come off. We don’t accept bookings for properties with a pest infestation, including properties that have been treated for one. Carpet, rug and upholstery steam cleaning are not part of a deep clean either, but you can add them to the same visit: see carpet cleaning, rug cleaning and sofa and upholstery cleaning.
How long does a deep clean take?
It depends on the size of the home, its condition and the task list. A small flat takes less time than a family house that hasn’t been deep cleaned for a year. We’ll give you an estimate when we quote.
How to prepare for a deep clean
- Clear worktops, surfaces and floors as much as you can, so the team can clean them rather than work around clutter
- Put away valuables and anything fragile.
- Tell us about your priorities, for example limescale in the bathroom or grease in the kitchen.
- Make sure there is hot water and electricity.
Deep cleaning or regular cleaning?
Regular domestic cleaning keeps a home clean week to week: surfaces, bathrooms, kitchen and floors. A deep clean goes further, into limescale build-up, grease on kitchen surfaces, skirting boards, door frames, light fittings and the places regular cleaning doesn’t reach. A deep clean is usually booked once or twice a year, or before regular cleaning starts.
Moving into a new home
If you are moving into a property that has just been vacated, the right service may be an end of tenancy clean, which follows a fuller checklist for an empty property. If the property has just had building work done, see after builders cleaning.
Frequently asked questions
From £89 for a room in a flatshare and from £210 for an unfurnished 1-bed flat with one bathroom. The final price depends on the size and condition of the property and whether it is furnished. Send us a few photos and we’ll give you an accurate quote.
Yes, and some tenants do. The areas that most often cause problems are the oven, limescale in the bathroom, the inside of cupboards and appliances, and skirting boards. If you are short of time or the property needs more than a regular clean, that is where a professional clean helps. Can I do end of tenancy cleaning myself?
